Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEFAN WOLODYMYR SHULAKEWYCH On Friday, May 26, 2000 our wonderful husband, father and grandfather passed away at Holy Family Nursing Home. He was predeceased by his parents Boleslaw and Olena (Moroz) and brother Oleksander. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 65 years, Irena Lubow; sons, Bohdan (Lydia), L. Borys (Oksana), Yarema (Slavka) grandchildren, Bohdan (Dr. Sonia), Dr. Markian, Dr. Zdan, Ilarion, Lada, Oresta; in-laws, Dr. Taras and Emma Snihurowycz, Natalia Radlowska and their families and extended family in Canada, U.S., Poland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Chile. Stefan was born in Borynia, Ukraine on December 11, 1906. He graduated from the Higher Academy of International Trade in Lviv, Ukraine with a degree in Economic Engineering. His journey in life took him to Molodechno, Belarus; Stanislawiw (Ivano Frankivsk) Ukraine; Krawkow, Poland; Landeck, Austria; and finally to Winnipeg in 1949. He worked for the government insurance company "Pzuw" in Belarus, Poland and Ukraine. He was Chief Administration Officer for the displaced peoples camp in Landeck, Austria. In Canada he worked as a steelworker for Dominion Bridge and over 25 years for Westeel Rosca. His avocation included gardening, winemaking, philately and numismatics. He especially enjoyed family celebrations and the many successes of his family. Prayers will be sung 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 1 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main St. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Friday, June 2 at Sts. Vladimir and Olga Cathedral, 115 McGregor St. with Rev. M. Kouts officiating. Interment to follow in All Saints Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons and friends Bohdan and Andrei Halkewycz. Flowers are gratefully declined. If friends so desire, donations may be made in Stefans memory to PLAST or the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Taras Shevchenko Foundation.
